Architectural Marvel
1992 — THE BEGINNING
When Fr. Philip Ettaparamphil SAC arrived in Banaswadi, he found a small community of just 10 families gathered in faith. With no church building, masses were celebrated on the bare floor at Mariam Nilaya — the faithful sitting on cement bags, their devotion unshaken by humble surroundings.
THE CONSTRUCTION YEARS
Fr. Philip personally carried construction materials alongside labourers, demonstrating the servant leadership that defines the Pallottine spirit. Brick by brick, prayer by prayer, the dream of a permanent place of worship took shape — culminating in the breathtaking shell-shaped sanctuary we know today.
TODAY — A THRIVING COMMUNITY
What began with 10 families has blossomed into a vibrant parish of over 2,000 families. The distinctive 80-foot altar with German-influenced design stands as a testament to what faith and community can build together — a true architectural marvel and spiritual home.
